This annual event raises awareness for the Foundation's mission and builds community around the New Trier motto, particularly promoting service to humanity.

On the Day of Service, students and alumni around the world work together on service projects in their hometowns and build connections with fellow Trevians. During its inaugural year, we had over 300 participants. We hope to grow our impact every single year!

There are three easy ways to participate:

1. Connect with a student group. Service is a pillar of the New Trier education and many student groups have ongoing service projects. You can help them increase their impact!
2. Find a project near you. Throughout the US we have alumni captains leading projects in their communities. Join a project near you or consider becoming a captain!
3. There are hundreds of ways to give back to your community. Every year, we compile a list of our top ideas that you can do on your own or with a group.

Gala 2022 is dedicated to supporting the Foundation’s mission to provide private funding for exceptional educational opportunities and special projects that are not funded – or are funded only in part – by the District 203 budget. Proceeds from the event go toward the Foundation’s 203 Grants program to fund faculty- and student-driven initiatives that support the entire student experience, including core academics, electives, extracurricular activities, the arts, and athletics.

New Trier launched the recognition program during the 2010-2011 school year to honor alumni who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, character, and values reflecting the New Trier motto — to commit minds to inquiry, hearts to compassion, and lives to the service of humanity.”
